Redevelopment Project

Lodge Redevelopment Funding
Shortfall still is £385,796. (total costs: 1,520,793)

The owners of the Letterewe Estate have kindly agreed to give a donation towards costs of the project.

Scottish Arts Council: we’ve been let into the early June meeting for a decision. We have until tomorrow (Friday 9th) to get them further info they have requested. See recent emails.

Studio building – what services will it have, and when?
Decision points!

A Scottish charitable trust decision on application for £95,000 will be late (20th?) May. I’ve just sent them some more info.

The Big Green Challenge: We have a day in Inverness – next Wednesday, and a day of a consultant coming here – Tuesday 27th May.

ERDF: Our application is alive and kicking and resubmitted via their on-line facility. May get money from this by Setember/October.

SRDP, including LEADER: Have contacted LEADER representatives, who suggested the project would also potentially fit in with rural priorities of SRDP. A joint meeting was suggested in Inverness.

A meeting was held at which it was suggested that we should prioritise securing promises of loans URGENTLY, so we can begin tendering and warrant document preparation ASAP.

Interest-free energy efficiency loan: We now have electronic and paper copies of the updated energy efficiency report, and have the application form/s to apply for this.

Log building Courses
The ‘log’ of people who’ve registered an interest in both/either courses has been made.

No set of criteria for allocating places has been made yet (for the log course or for the chainsaw course).
Finalising dates for the log course is still wholly dependent on funding and schedule of works situation.

I’ve not yet arranged new dates for the chainsaw courses, and am loath to do so until we have any funding in place for them or are more sure that the log building course will happen and when it will happen.

Other Stuff

Communications

(Probably covered in matters arising.) Noticeboard can be purchased any day now. Have checked no extra cost for delivery to highlands.

I recommend we publish approved minutes of meetings in the Assynt News, starting next week with the April minutes. Folk could look on website but many don’t. Those members who we have email addresses for now get them by email. This is only a minority still. Having them in the Assynt News will get them read much more widely by the community, keeping them aware of what the foundation is doing. Please discuss!

Housing

HSCHT – Surgery and meeting coming up.

Policies
(Poss. also covered in matters arising.) Board approval is sought for the recent drafts of child protection policy, art policy and access policy, as sent round by email.

Fun Day – needs discussion…
